Understand the word “Why“:
# why am I doing this? # why am I here? # why do I need to do this?
# why did I commit to this? # why are you helping me? # why am I helping you?
Why is one of the core principles in defining yourself. In a sports perspective, why have you chosen to coach, or why have you chosen to play this sport. Once you have clearly identified the reasoning behind your choice , the next step is to identify what you hope to achieve, when you hope to achieve it and how.
To achieve , you need to believe and trust that you and you alone can do this. There will be people to look up to, people to listen too, people to lean on, but none of that will matter if you don’t believe you can achieve. How do you get there? First of all, you need to determine what type of person you are and what type of learner you are.
What sort of person are you?
independant or dependant / leader or follower / risk taker or safe
supportive or unsupportive / individual or team orientated
What sort of learner are you?
Visual or verbal / practical or theory based / learn by trying or learning before you try
creative or robotic / inside or outside the box thinker
If you can try and determine the type of person you are, it would help your progression going forward.
Your traits could help determine what team you should coach? What team you should play for?; or even who are the right people to help support you. Being in the right environment , working with the right people that helps support YOU, is whats needed for you to help achieve your dream.
