Teaching the what if factor will also do is teach greater court awareness and give the player a greater sense of what is happening around them rather than the tunnel vision of set rules.
We teach players to be creative and think outside the square. We don't want players to be so structured in their movements and plays that they become robotic. We help teach players to make independent decisions and to use their own instinct to spontaneously respond to on- court happenings.
Giving the players the chance to play with imagination and freedom means they are playing with no restrictions.
We like to teach our players how to read/see what is happening and then how to react to that.
